Robotic Tank Cleaning (35,700 BBL)
The initial plan required five confined space entry shifts, involving heavy manpower, extensive safety equipment, and considerable downtime. This approach was labor-intensive and posed significant safety and operational challenges, highlighting the need for a more efficient and safer cleaning solution..
SOLUTION
By leveraging the full potential of robotic manway cannons, Cascade was able to reduce the required confined space entry shifts from five to just one, significantly improving operational efficiency. The robotic system enabled the complete removal of the product inside the tank, allowing safe entry for personnel without exposing them to hazardous conditions during the single shift of confined space work. This streamlined approach minimized downtime, increased safety, and optimized resources.
RESULTS
Cascade Energy Services achieved significant safety and efficiency milestones: 2,536 confined space hours were eliminated, 90% of cleaning work was completed externally to minimize risk, and 200m³ of slop oil and sand was removed with zero environmental impact.
IMPACT
Safer, faster, and cost-effective tank cleaning, showcasing Cascade’s commitment to innovation and safety.
